Sherlock Holmes

Cover Series
This assignment, was a three part cover series for Sherlock Holmes. They were inspired by Penguin books and the wonderful images created using simple colours and shapes. The colour scheme was drawn from British fox hunting plaids. Each cover holds onto the center rectange, branching the designs from this anchor point. Each design throws subtle clues to key moments in the plot of the book. For example, "A Study in Scarlet" was one of the first detective novels to record an inspector to use a magnifying glass. This became characteristic of Doyle’s Holmes. "The Valley of Fear" shows syringes, Sherlock’s coping mechanism for his fear of boredom, while "The Sign of Four" depicts the murder weapon and the getaway vehicle.
